Can you use any red light for therapy?

Any red color you may see in incandescent, fluorescent, or halogen bulbs is not due to the wavelengths of red light, but simply to a translucent paint or film that coats the glass. And any company that tries to pass off this type of light bulb as therapeutic should be reported. red light therapy appears to be safe and not associated with any side effects, at least if used in the short term and as directed. This therapy is not toxic or invasive and is not as harsh as some topical skin treatments.

Unlike ultraviolet (UV) light that causes cancer from the sun or tanning booths, RLT does not use this type of light. In general, red light therapy can be used on all skin types, including the most sensitive, and the science behind it holds promise. Realistically, you can expect a gentle way to correct specific skin conditions while diminishing signs of aging. It doesn't penetrate as deeply as other types of LEDs, such as infrared light, so you'll typically see red light therapy devices for skin care. Budget permitting, it's always best to buy a red light therapy device with maximum coverage, as larger devices emit more light energy and perform better than smaller units. This means that LEDs are converting more energy into the beneficial light sought by users of red light therapy. To avoid buying a fake or unsafe red light therapy device, always be aware of standards or certificates that prove the authenticity and safety of the device.

Before you start exploring red and infrared LED devices, it's important to understand the advantages of each type of light. Although if you take yourself very seriously and want a highly accurate wavelength reading, you should get a dedicated infrared light meter to measure wavelengths greater than 750 nm. Since red light in the 600 nm to 700 nm range does not penetrate deep into the body, this wavelength may be more suitable for someone who wants to improve skin health or help with the healing of superficial wounds. These beneficial properties are described in detail below, but red light (at the appropriate intensity and dosage) has a therapeutic or healing effect on tissue and body.

This equates to benefits such as reducing joint pain and inflammation, improving muscle recovery and nerve regeneration.
